The Frederick Parker Foundation Membership Scheme
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the purchase of the Frederick Parker Collection and its installation at the London Metropolitan University, the Trustees started a Membership Scheme for the specific purpose of purchasing additional chairs for the Collection. There are still some gaps that need to be addressed. Future purchases will enhance the Collection's use as a teaching aid. The Trustees would also like to add some more recent chairs that are important for design students and are likely to become classics in the future.
The Membership Scheme was launched in January 2009 and in June, HRH the Duke of Kent graciously attended a reception in our Gallery at the University to mark our 10th Anniversary, including this launch.
To join our Membership Scheme you are required to complete a banker’s order for £50 per annum with a Gift Aid certificate. You then become eligible to win one of two cases (twelve bottles) of Veuve Clicquot champagne each year. The draw for these takes place after the Annual Lecture and Dinner in October and the odds for winning are very good at 25 to 1. All of our original supporters who have won, have had their cases delivered for Christmas.
Please do become a member to help us to further enhance the Collection as a unique teaching tool for learning about the history, design, renovation and manufacture of the British Chair.
