Metropolitan Works - The Home of the Frederick Parker Collection
The Frederick Parker Collection of Chairs is located at London Metropolitan University (the former London College of Furniture). The University uses the Collection to support its research and offers short courses, diplomas and degrees in design history, restoration and conservation.
The Collection is housed in a dedicated gallery at Metropolitan Works, the University's new resource centre which now incorporates Furniture Works. This unique centre, which includes state-of-the-art machinery and flexible workspaces, aims to reach out across the production and creative industries to give UK designers and manufacturers the facilities and skills they need to build a thriving industry for the future. Metropolitan Works is part funded by the London Development Agency, City Fringe Partnership, The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the European Regional Development Fund.
