The 10th Annual Frederick Parker Lecture will be held on 30th October 2008 at the Royal Over-Seas League, Park Street, London SW1A 1LR www.rosl.org.uk. The Speakers are Gareth Williams and Dr Bernard (Bill) Cotton.
The title of Gareth’s talk: “The Past and Future of Contemporary Furniture” is a precursor of his new book “Telling Tales” and a major exhibition at the V&A of contemporary furniture to take place in the summer of 2009.
The title of Bill’s talk is the “The Hidden Pleasures of Research”. He has undertaken huge amount of research for a large number of talks and published books and many articles on regional furniture. A major new book will be published this September titled “Scottish Venacular Furniture” and he will tell us something about his investigations and ground-breaking discoveries for this book.
